By attending this webinar, I learn from the proposed resistance management focus base on the Integration of host plant resistance with other compatible IPM tactics for sustainable FAW control in ASEAN. The country specific and regional FAW resistance management guidelines inclusive of all possible IPM practices and the regional FAW surveillance and resistance monitoring.
Bt Maize in FAW Control have been effective based on researches, however aside from Spodoptera frugiperda, there are also other Spodoptera species that attacks other important crops like Spodoptera exigua that feeds in an onion crops reported in the Philippines. Pesticides misuse and the Polyphagous nature of armyworms are creating havoc into a sound effective IPM management program. Thus, integration of combined IPM tactics and all possible practices to date are important to be apply in order to control armyworm from gaining resistance.
many thanks for your great efforts, but I think that FAW could be controlled or treated like the cotton leaf worm by using many tactics represented in the parasitoid Telenomus species to parasitize eggs mass of the pest, spraing Bt for larvae control and use of botanicals
