Gender-Skills Capability Training Course

Integrated Pest Management, Climate Change and Biodiversity

Overview

This 6-month hybrid course, run in conjunction with CABI, combines online and in-person learning to build gender skills in agricultural research and policy. Participants engage in a dynamic, module-based learning system with interactive activities, guided online lectures, and group discussions.

The course is run through an online learning platform that facilitates flexible and self-paced learning but also includes two 3-day physical workshops - Thailand (July 2024) and Vietnam (November 2024). 

Key Objectives

  • Enhancing gender skills in agricultural research and policy.

  • Promoting inclusive approaches to pest management and climate change.

  • Equipping participants with tools to integrate gender into agricultural systems.

Participants have completed several key modules, focusing on gender basics, research methods, and integrated pest management, combined with valuable insights shared through lively discussions and group activities.

The final capstone workshop is set for November 4-6, 2024 in Vietnam, where participants will present their work and collaborate on a final report for publication. This is an exciting step for the region towards applying the gender-inclusive practices and strategies discussed throughout the course!
