FAW in the Field: Cambodia

Updated: Apr 20, 2023

Mr Ou Run from Tboung Khmum province, Cambodia, talks about his experience with managing FAW to Mr Samoul Oeurn. Unlike common weeds and other plant pests that Mr Ou Run manages, he finds fall armyworm, which he first noticed in 2018 and 2019, very difficult to manage, particularly when the crop has recently been planted and the young leaves are emerging. He currently applies 4-5 pesticides to control FAW in his maize crop.

Finding out what farmers are doing in their fields to monitor and manage FAW and what they are finding difficult and would like more information and resources on is important to the ASEAN FAW Action Plan. If you know of a farmer who would like to be featured in our blog series, or who can share their experiences and on-the-ground knowledge with the team - then please contact us at faw@growasia.org
